This week of OCs, it's OCs from Cassiopeia Quinn. You know, that webcomic that I make over at https://www.cassiopeiaquinn.com/

Flavor Text is as follows:

1: CASSIOPEIA: Heh. 69. That's, you know... The only natural number whose square and cube use every digit from zero to nine exactly once. *Nice.*

2: An unusual example of the Vanaa species, Nimoo enjoys many human items and traditions, and few more than Halloween. Taking advantage of his malleable form allows Nimoo the chance to dress as festive gourds or a behatted occultist.

3: Despite being a near full body replacement cyborg, Zeke likes to keep most "smart applications" in his head to a minimum. A built in clock is nice for when he wants to check on the oven or the laundry, but he'll turn it off when he's lying down with some dusty old paperback.

4: Paola Feti is a model Navy officer (in a culture based on reputation, rank, and competition). Her skill at dueling hasn't actually proven her correct in any arguments, but it's definitely given her the last word more than once.

5: Madison figured she'd be happy after finishing this new kit, but all she could see are the dozen little mistakes. And they'll nag at her every time she sees it.

Locked Tomb Timeline, as far as I can tell

This is a long one, and a bit of a mess. I'll be making other posts about the fun date coincidences and my speculations about their implications, but I figured I should give some of the actual evidence in one solid chonky post so I can link to it and don't need to repeat myself later on.

(BD = before death of the earth; AR = after resurrection; BM = before millennium, AM = after millennium)

Unspecified Pre-Death of the earth: Foundation of Canaan house/the facility that Jod et al used for the cryogenic experiments. Establishment of Kuiper installation, Uranus platform, Mars installation w/ room for 5 million, the Lucifer Telescope, and fusion batteries (Ntn 14, Ntn 74, Ntn 189)

Now! Some pre-resurrection numbers!

Before 2 BD: C-- sides with the crew (Ntn 13)

1 BD: Governments shift away from the cyrogenics plan (Ntn 13)

0 BD: Jod destroys the world

Now, the most unclear section of the timeline: the resurrection and its immediate aftermath.

Augustine, from Htn 176: “Alfred and I were there early enough to found the Koniortos Court on the Fifth, but Lyctors like Cyth wouldn’t be born for years and years, and she spent her whole life suffering Seventh House woo-woo theories regarding the value of hereditary cancer … whereas Mercy is the oldest lag except for me, and she was out hammering at the Eighth House before the paint was even dry on the Resurrection.”

The resurrection occurs a few weeks after the death of the earth (Ntn 396). Then things get a bit hazy. We know the approximate order of the resurrections of the original ten disciples, but not how far apart they were staggered - was it minutes? Months? Years?

Similarly, Cyrus/Val and Anastasia/Samael are implied to have showed up before Cytherea/Loveday, when Cytherea was almost 30 years old. Both cavaliers have last names associated with their house, which suggests that either the third and ninth were established enough to at least have a small population by the time that they went to Canaan House, or that they took those names/were given those names later on.

Cytherea-as-Dulcinea says that she "dreamed of being a 9th nun" at age 13, and it's unclear if she's speaking as herself or as Dulcinea or how much she was lying as either persona (Gtn 104). Thus, we don't know if the ninth house was established by the time she went to Canaan House, though it seems like the sort of hint that both Cytherea and Muir would have had a fun time dropping.

Thus, while it is possible/seems probably many/most of the houses were established by the time that any of the newer disciples showed up, especially Cytherea, that is unconfirmed. However, it took until at least 30 years after the resurrection, probably more, for all 16 of the disciples to gather.

A rough order of events during this time, some of which may overlap:

Original disciples resurrected

New disciples arrive

Lyctors ascend; Anastasia fails

Alecto is put in the tomb and Cassiopeia dies

The lyctors and Jod flee to the Mithraeum, leaving the system

Particular questions that remain and would help clarify things:

Were Anastasia, Samael, Cyrus, Valancy, and Loveday born or resurrected? It seems like Cytherea was likely born.

When did Anastasia have a child and found the tombkeeper line?

When did Pyrrha (or G1deon!Pyrrha) paint a nursury? Was it the same time she visited Anastasia "before she got settled" (Ntn 85)? Was Anastasia's child the birth she assisted at (Ntn 121)?

When was the ninth founded? When was the prison installation founded? Was there anything on the ninth before Anastasia was told to prepare for Alecto's imprisonment? Samael seems to have been born or resurrected after the ninth was founded, unless he was given his name later?

After resurrection: Actual Numbers. Once we get like 100-200 years out from the resurrection, things start to get clearer. Not clear, but clearer.

100 AR: God names himself Gaius (Htn 521). Is this when Cytherea ascends, since she is given credit for the "naming oneself after one's cavalier" thing? Or was that some God bullshit?

200 AR: Alecto put in tomb (Htn 478)

4000 AR: source gram comes from sixth house to BOE (Htn 529)

5000 AR: BOE comes to the attention of jod and the lyctors; they may have existed beforehand but been unable to find the houses/be found (Htn 154). Augustine begins questioning the purpose of the empire (Htn 483).

Moving into the thousand years before the events of the series:

9000 AR/ 1000 BM: Matthias Nonius lives (Gtn 53)

750-700 BM: New Rho contract drawn up (Ntn 206)

519ish BM: beginning planning of dios apate major (Htn 474)

300 BM: Cyth gets angry (Gtn 402). Last contact between second and first houses (Gtn 456).

100 BM: Jod leaves the Mithraeum (Htn 81).

80 BM: Jod joins the Erebos (Htn 81)

40-39 BM: G1deon starts to really annoy Augustine, who speaking in 1 AM states: “He has caused me more pain over these last scant forty years than I dare to admit" (Htn 268). I think Wake makes the most sense as an explanation for this, though it's off by about five years.

34 BM: Wake reinvigorates BOE (Htn 154). Ortus born? That’s a fun coincidence that means nothing.

30 BM: Mercy thinks Jod should have returned to the Mithraeum then (Htn 81).

25-24 BM: BOE finds out about resurrection beasts (Htn 275) because Wake talks to G1deon (Ntn 155)

21 BM: G1 begins his (final) pursuit of wake (Htn 469)

Sometime after 300 BM, most likely 20 BM, Cytherea teaches BOE about steles and obelisks (Ntn 155)

20 BM approximately, presumably, could be earlier: Augustine and Mercy talk to BOE. BOE gets accurate fleet schematics for the first time in a hundred years and eventually the location of the mithraeum, though those were probably earlier with Cytherea and two decades later with Cytherea!Wake respectively (Ntn 155)

19 BM: Isaac’s dad killed by terrorists on [redacted], presumably BOE (Gtn 459). Mercy and Augustine are “talking” (Htn 87); Dios apate major. Mercy sees Cytherea for the last time and Cytherea laughs so much she insults Mercy (Htn 120), which is an understandable response given that Mercy may have described the dios apate major plan and/or requested her involvement. Mercy sees Sarpedon as a young soldier (about 20 years PM; close enough and matches up with dios apate) (Htn 81).

19–18 BM: Wake dies (Htn 88). Gideon born. Creche massacre.

17 BM: Harrow born.

14 BM Gideon’s first escape attempt (Gtn 24)

13 BM: Gideon is not a necromancer confirmed (Gtn 24)

10 BM: Augustine sees Cytherea for the last time (Htn 120). Wake’s bones get put on rotation (Htn 476).

9-8 BM: Harrow is suicidal. Harrow opens the tomb. Harrow hears/sees the body. Onset of psychosis. Unclear in what order (Htn 49, 247).

7 BM: (Harrow is still suicidal but sees the body?). Harrow and Gideon fight (Htn 477). Gideon sees Harrow opening the tomb. Her parents kill themselves. Gideon gets nightmares about being in the tomb (Gtn 202).

5 BM: Harrow starts puppeting (?girl wtf?? What was going on in the intervening two years???) (Gtn 348). Last ninth house chaplains and adepts are lost in action (Htn 81).

2 BM: Gideon enters Drearburgh for the last time

Month 8: Harrow kills her 13th planet with Mercy. It’s desert and triple-sunned. Wake makes posthumous contact with BOE (Ntn 155).

Month 9-10: When Judith says she begins writing her report; she’s with BOE on a wooded double(potentially triple?)-sunned planet. At one point several weeks (or months?) later Mercy shows up. According to Judith, that is. Judith honey I might need to recuse your testimony for somehow being more of an unreliable narrator than the lobotomized traumatized psychotic unmedicated half-dead triple-haunted 201-souled Harrowhark Nonagesimus. Then I could bump this back to month 8 which would make more sense.

Month 10: Harrow catches G1d!Pyrrah with Cytherea!Wake

Between Month 10 and Month 12: Harrow turns 18. Harrow discovers G1d can drain thanergy. Harrow makes soup. Harrow makes Ianthe’s arm. Dios apate minor.

Month 12: Harrow finds Cam and Pal on a wooded planet and sees Judith. Judith tries to warn Harrow about Mercy’s involvement.

Mercy ditches her for unspecified business. I suspect this is when she meets with We Suffer? Was this when she heals Judith?

1 AM

Month 2: death of the emperor. Quick undeath of the emperor. Nona born(?)

Month 5: Station Red-As-Blood abandoned (Ntn 152). The demons show up on Antioch (Ntn 448).

Month (6?): Nona gets a job (Ntn 41).

Month 7: nona gets shot, cam/pal fusion reveal (Ntn 105 through the end of the chapter)

I want to call ortus from the ninth "ortus 1" and the new guy "ortus 2"

because ninth ortus was the first to show up

but new ortus is actually older and also is ortus the first

we're gonna go with ortus and lyctor!ortus, for now

so, as I was saying, this is were ortus starts becoming much more insistent in these "flashbacks" about him not being the right choice

which, he's not wrong

we know he's not wrong

and harrow is saying stuff like "unless you can summon matthias nonius" (matthias nonius is becoming a recurrent thing, let's remember harrow compared gideon to him at one point)

and ortus goes "I don't understand why you chose me" to which harrow says "there was nobody else" and ortus exasperatedly says "you never did posses an imagination"

VERY IMPORTANT THING

a skeleton turns around when they're walking and says "is this how it happens?"

apparently, not!dulcinea was the most reluctant to slurp her cavalier, but that didn't stop any of them, not even her, so

I have to respect augustine a little bit because he asked "which one of the kiddies did her in?" and I thought that was hilarious

he is called the saint of patience, which makes my previous comment about them being named via sarcasm very correct

they start summoning lyctor!ortus by saying that he's interested in "you-know-what", which is both suspicious and childish and the vibes of these lyctors are all over the place

augustine thinks something's wrong, which is an understatement at this point, but ok

lyctor!ortus comes in as if summoned by the gossip and harrow calls him "the next terrible part of your life" which is saying something

lyctor!ortus comes with news of the seventh beast or whatnot that's trailing them

harrow bleeds from her ears and smashes her head on the next available surface to pass out

this lyctor job is terrible

it's like the end of drop dead gorgeous and harrow is kristen dunst

“Get your hands off me. I haven't done anything wrong!” I screamed and kicking my legs about while having guards drag me down multiple hallways until we got to one of the pod launch bays. “What the hell do you think you’re doing to me!”

Footsteps came up behind me and the guards where I sharply turned my head around seeing my mother Dr Abigail and father Jake Griffin coming up to us. “Remove your hands from our daughter now please.”

“Counselors. We are just following your orders that you sent us Dr. Griffin.” One of them spoke, removing their hands from my forearm.

I elbowed the other guard in the stomach and he stumbled backwards into the nearest wall. “Orders. What orders have you told them?”

“Cassiopeia, honey there isn’t another way to ensure they won’t kill all three of us. I’m sorry, but we are sending you to the ground.” My mother explained beginning to take steps towards me till I harshly slapped her hand that reached out to touch me.

“You kicked me out of the house at sixteen to lower suspicion of you possibly having two kids but now you’re saying that isn’t enough!”

My father went around the corner escorting someone by the arm where it took me a minute before I recognized who he had alongside him. “Jake! We can’t let anyone else know what we are doing.” My mother gasped seeing my best friend.

“Cass! Why are they sending you down there? It isn’t safe yet. It hasn’t been a hundred years yet.” Glass Sorenson came running to me with her blonde hair and blue eyes, flinging her arms around my neck and began to cry.

Wrapping my arms around her I sobbed into her shoulder not wanting to be forced to leave her. “I don’t know why they’re doing this. I don’t want to go, Glass.”

“Dr. Griffin, please don’t do this. She’s my best friend.”

Mom sniffed through tears that were welling up in her eyes. “Glass, it’s family business-“

“Oh for god sake. I have a sister. Her name is Clarke and we are twins and nobody knows about us. That’s why they are sending me to the ground without knowing if it's survivable or not!” Throwing my hands up in the air I shouted getting frustrated that she was avoiding the truth.

Glass grasped my hand closest to hers. “Can I at least say goodbye before you send her down?”

“Yes. You can say goodbye, Glass.” My father nodded with a very weak expression.

Glass spun around on her feet, throwing her arms around me a second time. “I’m going to be praying that you make it. Because you are so much stronger and tougher than anybody thinks you are…may we meet again.” She sniffed back some tears once she had broken the embrace.

Squeezing her shoulders underneath my fingers I wiped away falling tears. “I will see you again, bestie. May we meet again.” From that day forward anyone else that came from the Ark couldn’t be trusted in my eyes.

I was born in space, but I became a Grounder.

Two guards drew the tent curtain opened on either side of me as I strolled inside with my shoulders back and head held high knowing who I was standing in front of at this very moment. The woman I now considered to be my Commander was seated on her throne of trees spinning a dagger in one hand until I paused in my step directly in front of her presence. “You summoned me, Heda.”

“I have an assignment for you. You are my best tracker and fighter in the ones up to take my place when my fight is over.” The Commander began speaking.

Brushing some of my loose hair from my eyes I had twisted one side of my hair into a braid and left the rest of it completely loose. “How have you chosen me to serve you today, Heda?”

“Anya has informed me that one of her scouts has stopped reporting the number of the sky invaders on our lands. I want you to set up camp near their camp and find out all you can about these sky people.”

Nodding my head in understanding I bowed my head down to her. “It will be done, Commander.”

“When you landed in our territory years ago I had many of my advisers tell me I should have just killed you right then and there.” I spun on my boots about to leave till she called for my attention again making me peek over my shoulder back at her. “I’m very proud that I made my own decision and kept you alive. You may have come from the sky but you’ve proven to be a true Earthborn, Warrior Cass.”

“I appreciate that I have your respect, Commander.” I smirked back at her spinning on my feet leaving her tent and heading off onto the assignment I had been given.

Days later I had moved into one of the nearby caves not too far from the sky camp. I sat on one of the middle ground branches hearing a small group of them coming in my direction. Wearing a pack of knives that were attached to a leather strap I scanned the area seeing a group of four guys running from one of the traps Lincoln had set up to catch reapers.

One of the guys that was wearing goggles on his head was screaming in the direction of some clan members that I knew about. “They can kill us whenever they want. Then they should get it over with! Come on! We know you're out there!”

“You want to kill us…” The second guy with long black hair grabbed the goggle wearing guy and slapped his hand over his mouth trying to shut him up.

“Bellamy!-“ The other sky person hollered to the one I was guessing was the leader of the group. I leaped down from the tree drawing out a flute with multiple darts inside of it, blowing into it I shot the other three in the neck and they collapsed out cold.

Raising myself up from my knees I bolted towards the last standing guy with curly raven hair. He tried to run at me but I twisted one of his arms around his back shoving him against the nearest tree. “I wouldn’t bother trying to call for help if I were you.” I whispered a warning in his ear, pressing a dagger to the back of his neck.

“You don’t scare me, grounder girl.” He growled back, doing his best to not show me any hint of fear.

Spinning him around pushing his back against the tree I soon realized that he was slightly taller than I was so I had to angle the blade up more than I originally thought I would have to. “I’m guessing you're their leader. I’ll give you a bit of advice, don’t put yourself out in the open unless you have a death wish.”

“Like I’ll ever take advice from the enemy.” The guy I heard them call Bellamy spat in my face. His dark brown eyes locked onto my green gaze.

Stepping away from him I tossed the dagger in my hand downwards towards his boots hearing a foghorn from somewhere else off in the distance. “Keep the blade you’re gonna need all the help you can get, Bellamy.”

“How the heck do you know my name? What the hell is yours, grounder?” He raised his tone, shifting his gaze from mine then down to the dagger at his feet.

I smirked hearing the horn noise getting louder telling me it was time to go. “I can’t give you the answer right away. Otherwise that gives away the game. See you around, Sky Boy.” Twirling on my feet I bolted into a run through the terrain leaving him too stunned in shock to chase after me.

It had been a few hours since the acid fog had cleared, meaning I could leave the entrance of Lincoln’s cave when I wanted to. Quietly entering the rest of the way inside Lincoln’s cave I saw a girl with dark black hair beginning to wake up. Hearing other footsteps running in I slipped behind the available space in the wall, making sure she or Lincoln didn’t see me watching them. The sky girl had managed to grab the keys and the group of boys that were with Bellamy helped her off the cave floor. She jumped into the goggles guy's arms. “How did you find me?”

“Followed him.” He chuckled in relief, hugging her back.

The girl broke the embrace and ran into Bellamy’s arms until he saw a spear laying beside a passed out Lincoln on the stone floor. “We should go. Now. Before he wakes up.”

“He's not gonna wake up.” Bellamy picked it, gripping the spear tightly in his hands.

The girl attempted to grab his wrist. “Bellamy, stop. He didn't hurt me. Let's just go.”

“They started this. Finn. Move.” He ignored her.

The guy that was bent down by an unconscious Lincoln noticed the horn he was wearing on his hip before Lincoln woke up and stabbed him in the belly where he collapsed onto the ground. “Foghorn.”

Bellamy raised the spear about to hurt Lincoln until I leaped out from hiding and up onto the older boy's back. “Argh! Get her off me-“ He struggled to grab a hold of me where I made him drop the weapon before he gripped my thighs throwing me off and onto my back harshly.

“Stop! That's my brother!” The young girl cried out moments after Bellamy and Lincoln went fighting over the spear till my friend grabbed it. He knocked the sky boy down pushing the weapon against his throat until she screamed.

If you're in America, or you follow American politics, you may recognise the severity of our predicament. This post cannot answer questions. Instead, it is here to bring attention to all of the people whom will suffer under President Donald Trump. Guideline #1: Stay Alive, bitch.

First up is!

Cassiopeia, or Cassie for short is the Sans of this universe(which I don't have a name for yet) she is 5'2 and trans.

Her drink of choice is tea! all kinds, she's not picky! She actually is a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to the stuff. And when she wants to treat herself she likes to add condiments to her cup to add a bit of flavor.

Her personality is similar to og sans but she's a lot more elegant in her mannerisms. She's also VERY slow to anger/irritation and even slower to show it. Let's just say, never play poker with her.

She still has 1 hp, and isn't a fan of physical combat. She likes being covert and subdues any treats with the stardust that surrounds her skull. As when inhaled it can give the victim a calming effect or put them into a deep sleep, depending on how much they've puffed. She does also have bones and blasters but rarely needs to use them due to her stardust being so effective.

Instead of being a quantum physics nerd, Cassie is a medical doctor. I'm not sure what specifically but what I do know is that she is very educated on human Bodies and monster souls. She had tried to learn quantum physics when she was younger but it just didn't click with her, she was never a numbers gal.

I like to imagine she's friends with Baggs sans or Wine. For Baggs, I think they would grow close while having deep conversations about their respective jobs and tell stories about all the crazy injuries they've had to deal with. That, and she can use her stardust to put him to sleep, that's my head canon at least. She also likes teasing him about his height, she thinks his reactions are hilarious.

As for Wine, i feel like they like debating each other. Their favorite topic to debate over being what's the better drink, wine or tea. And let me tell ya, it will get very intense. And not in the 'toss a couple chairs at each other' kinda way, more so in the calm on the surface yet internally wishing death upon the other, all in good fun of course. The most hostile thing they'd do to each other is send a passive aggressive yet deeply accurate comment. Sometimes Coffee likes to sit in the corner and listen to them while he draws, it's good background noise.

As for Papyrus or Zephyr,

His personality is a lot like og pap, just more blunt and a lot more willing to initiate a friendly sparring session.

He's kind of a gym junkie, always training out to get stronger. He absolutely LOVES working out and even has weighted plating for his boots, gauntlets, shoulder and knee pads.

Due to his love for sparring, he often gets into friendly brawls with the other members of the royal guard stationed in snowdin, and has beaten every single one. These feats were obviously reported to Undyne. And Undyne, Impressed by his feats, offered Zeph a position in the royal guard. Papyrus obviously was ecstatic, and accepted immediately.

However due to actually getting a position in the royal guard, the rose tinted glasses he'd always held onto have been a bit wiped down due to the actual nature of the guard not being quite what he expected. Still though, he holds out hope for all the fame and recognition he rightfully deserves.

Zephyr is a full on tank when it comes to fighting, he's a heavy hitter and very agile, even with his weighted gear. He mainly uses punches and kicks for precise direct hits but isn't afraid to give his appoint a good knee or elbow to throw them off.

His weapons of choice are brass knuckles, they pack a punch on their own but when he's feeling a bit murdery, he's able to reinforce them with his magic.

Besides training he also loves to paint. Any blank surface you can think of, he's painted on. He's painted his armor, shorts, safety pads, and his own face!

He even paints on lashes to match with Cassie's (which are made of magic). He changes the paint on his face everyday, it's always something new but he seems to favor cloud and sun motifs.

When Zeph isnt training he is always neck deep in a painting project, weather it be one he was working on for several days or a new idea he just made up and really wanted to do. Sometimes he has Cassie help with some of his projects, though she either lazily draws a sick man, or a handprint. Typical lazy sans behavior, it annoys Zeph to no end but he never paints over any additions made

Due to being a Doctor, Cassie is a slight germaphobe(more so in her workplace) but she puts that aside and gets her hands dirty for him

The clouds around his head change with his mood Like pepa from encanto. He can also manipulate them, making the clouds big and fluffy to ride on or catch someone when falling, or even creating fog or mist to act like a smoke screen.

Zephyr's dish of choice is pastries, some witch he lends to Cassie to go with her tea. It's more of a casual thing than something he's passionate about though

Next up is my favorite at the moment! OUTCODE: E770R2095E!! Or Code:E for short! Pronounced Cody ;) (updated ref here)

He his, like his name states, an outcode. However no one really knows where he comes from. Ink's theory is that he was supposed to be an error sans, but something went wrong and now he's just here.

He exists somewhere in the anti-void, no where close to Error, seeing as how he had no idea Code:E existed for the longest time. Having nothing to do with his time, he sits in the anti-void going over codes.

When he's eventually discovered by Error, immediately Error is pissed as he feels Code:E is trying to copy him. And true to his title, he tries to destroy Code:E. However, it didn't quite work out. Every time Error tried attacking, it had always just fazed through him, leaving Code:E completely unbothered. Eventually he finds that Code:E has no soul. Due to this he has no emotions and Error can't check his code, and even if he tried it would be completely an utter gibberish.

Dispite not having any actual emotions, he has this inate want to learn and grow, asking questions about anything and everything. He often gets compared to an AI by Error because of this.

He has no real powers or magic but can copy the code of any sans type just by looking at them, other outcodes included. And when I say copy, I mean copy. With one look he knows all about you, your au, your powers, everything. Usually when this happens his eyes gloss over with static as he lists everything he sees in the code out loud.

Being able to copy code, he is also able to copy the appearance of the sans he sees and even use their magic.

When he can't do something or is just thinking really hard on one thing in particular, Code:E's eyes get staticy and his form glitches a helluva lot more.

He can also create portals to other universes with the pink tear like glitches under his eyes. Though he never uses it, as he never sees the need to. He mostly uses them to observe and learn about the multiverse. He spends most of his time sitting in the little anti-void where he first was created. Just sitting there.

Doing nothing.

All alone.

Well, not totally. Due to Error being a complete drama queen, he often complains about Code:E aloud allowing Ink to overhear. And ink, like the nosy like little shit he is, annoys Error to show him what's got his strings all bundled up. He eventually caved and led Ink to Code:E. And after a pretty disturbing interaction, Ink complains to the star sans' about him. Upon hearing it, Dream, always with the bleeding heart, decides to visit Code:E and announces that they're friends. Code:E doesn't quite understand it, but goes along anyway as Dream teaches him about more aus and how emotions work. Even so, he rarely has time to visit due to his role in the multiverse.

But their is one person who does visit regularly..

And his name is- (updated ref + more information)

RETRO!! A fellow outcode!

He's a very outgoing and rambunctious spirit, going all around all kinds of AUs to do anything he wants! Weather that be wreaking havoc with pranks or just relaxing under the stars in outertale. However due to his chaotic neutral nature, he often has run-ins with both the star sans' AND the bad sans' usually having to escape in outrageous ways and hide in the anti-void for a few hours.

And during one of his little escapades, into the anti-void he meets Code:E. At first he's startled, especially when Code:E tries copying Retro's code, and can't. Leaving Code:E perplexed and Intrigued as this had never happened with any sans he had seen. He asks all sorts of questions about Retro, some more personal than others, and after giving some non answers Retro asks about Code:E.

Code:E is absolutely floored(as floored as one with no soul can be) as no one had actually asked him anything about what he wanted to do or needed. He told him as such and for some reason, this had hit Retro directly in the soul. He had found it relatable. And so from that moment forward, Retro vowed to be Code:E's friend. He even gave Code:E his nickname. And later, his poncho.

I bet your wondering about the gell I described in the photo, well it's simple really. It's basically the gels from Portal. THATS RIGHT IM UNORIGINAL!! FUCKING SUE ME!! /J

HE ALSO HAS PORTALS HA!

In all seriousness though, yes I did just give him the powers from Portal, and yes he can make actual portals, but these help him travel through aus. The portals are his magic while he made the gel with science. For his portals idk if I want it to only work on white surfaces so that can be up to interpretation

What uncommon/common fear do they have?

Stellaris’s biggest fear (which I think most people will find relatable) is fucking up. He keeps doing it and he doesn’t know what he’s doing wrong.

Do they have any pet peeves?

He hates being interrupted (both when saying or doing something) and being talked down to.

What are 3 items you can find in their bedroom?

Uh… an absurd number of Old World dioramas, his reading tablet (unless he’s lost it again), and probably a bed somewhere in there but good luck finding it.

What do they notice first in a person?

Just their basic physical appearance. He’s not good at reading people.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how high is their pain tolerance?

I’d say he’s about a 4. He can handle some pain, but he gets overwhelmed pretty quickly.

Do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure?

Stellaris is a mixture of freeze and fawn, actually, depending on the circumstances.

Do they come from a big family/are they a family person?

He has one sister, Cassiopeia, which is a pretty average family size for nobles. He wants kids one day. (Minor spoiler: he will eventually have two children he adores with his fiancée/eventually wife Ambition).

What animal represents them best?

Stellaris reminds me of a rabbit. Skittish, sits completely still and focused until startled.

What is a smell that they dislike?

He dislikes the smell of blood. Also perfume.

Have they broken any bones?

You know, I’m not certain. I suspect he has not, since he doesn’t lead a very active life, but it’s possible.

How would a stranger likely describe them?

A night owl, although that’s partly because he loses track of time and stays up way too late.

Stellaris’s all-time least favourite flavour is cucumber. His favourite… hmm, I feel like he’s a chicken nuggets kind of guy.

Do they have any hobbies?

He loves making intricate, elaborate dioramas of Old World environments.

Boom, surprise birthday party! How do they react to surprises?

Stellaris hates surprises. He likes to have his day strictly planned out and would probably have a meltdown if you surprised him with a large unscheduled activity, especially one that required social interaction.

Do they like to wear jewelry?

Not particularly. He doesn’t like how it feels.

Do they have neat or messy handwriting?

Honestly, I don’t know if Stellaris can handwrite at all. A lot of people on the stations can’t because they type everything. It’s viewed a lot like writing in cursive. I think he tried to learn when he was younger but isn’t very good at it.

What are the two emotions they feel the most?

Anxiety and confusion. Usually from the same source.

Do they have a favorite fabric?

I’m no good with fabrics, but I think it might be suede if I have the right fabric in mind.

What kind of accent do they have?

I’m really not sure. Hints of transatlantic I suppose because that’s what his family has. But he also has the very stereotypical flat affect “autism accent.”

Okay I’m sure someone else has made a similar post but I have thoughts I’m attempting to think about these resurrection beasts

The Houses

As far as I can tell we only really know for sure that the First House is Earth and the Ninth House is Pluto. My proposed lineup for the houses is as above. Fucking up the numbering so that earth can be first is very human, and John would do it. And it makes sense since it is quite literally the first home of humanity. If we go with this lineup then there are few things I can read into…

Venus as The 3rd:

The third house have an association with beauty, like the goddess the planet is named for. The individuals from the third that we know are also kind of…horrible terrible people (affectionate). Venus, much like Ianthe’s personality, is inhospitable.

Mars as The 4nd:

“But wait,” you say, “shouldn’t the second house be Mars since they’re the ones associated with the cohort and all that?” MAYBE. The fourth also works for Mars though, they too are extremely associated with war, we learn from Isaac and Jeanmarrie that 4th kids go to war very young.

Pluto as The 9th:

Death god, skeleton nuns, we all know.

So that’s one interpretation, but honestly I think that

1) Venus is likely to be the 7th, since Cytherea was both a name for the goddess Venus and the name of everyone’s favorite identity stealing lyctor from the 7th house.

2) The 3rd might be Jupiter? King of the gods, and the third is always described in terms of royalty?

3) The 2nd could be Mars, as discussed above.

4) The 6th kind of needs to be Mercury. Mercury/Hermes as a god was associated with doctors and the element used to be used in thermometers.

So really that brings us back to this which is so upsetting but without further analysis that’s what I’ve got for sure.

Resurrection Beasts

Similar to the true nature of the houses, we know very little for sure when it comes to the RBs. Alecto is Earth. Varun seems to be Neptune. That’s what we know. Which is why it’s particularly confusing that in Harrow the Ninth Augustine describes a different creature as being The First.

As described by the lyctors…

Number Two: “…spewed quicksilver and remade itself into hundred foot spikes.”

@dmmeeble pointed out that this was probably mercury since quicksilver is another name for the element mercury

Number Six: “…kept sucking us into enormous sphincters and spraying us with worms.”

I’ve got next to nothing for the sphincter worms beast tbh. My only idea is that this could be Jupiter because that sounds like some Zeus (Jupiter) punishment nonsense on the level of Prometheus and the liver pecking eagle.

Number Four: “…a humanoid creature with a beautiful face who held me under the water, and it spoke in a lovely voice but it only repeated, die, die…”

I imagine that this one has to be Venus since Mercy makes a point to say they were beautiful and Venus was a goddess of beauty. Also, water is mentioned and Venus was born from water and is therefore associated with it.

Number One: “…a great and incoherent machine…when I saw it I thought it had a great tail, and a thousand broken pillars on its back, but Cassiopeia saw it as a mechanical monster with swords for wings, and great horns of myelin, tessellated over with graves.”

This is the weirdest one. We already know Number One was Alecto, so this has to be something different. Right? RIGHT?! Cause the thing is I could see this one being earth. Mechanical monster because of all the mechanical detritus of the human species left after John’s apocalypse, the thousand broken columns also speaking to ancient ruins, swords for wings because of the legacy of violence left by the people of earth, the graves all the many graves dug in the surface of the earth over the years. This is a fairly human centric interpretation but having experienced Nona and Alecto, the soul of the earth is clearly very affected by humanity. In an entirely different direction, this could totally be Pluto. The graves, the swords (especially with our knowledge of the ninth), the lifelessness of the mechanical creature. Parts of the description is even reminiscent of some kind of automaton version of a harpy or a fury, with the wings and the general horrors of appearance. And while the furies are chthonic beings…this still brings us back to Alecto…

Number Eight: “…a giant head.” “Finned like a fish…it’s ribs were bloody bandages, and it’s teeth protruded through its own skull, tangled about its face like a nest. It was red, and it had a single eye of green that moved all about the body…”

There are multiple ways to go here. Red implies Mars of course. All of the images of injuries and bloody bandaging could also speak to Mars as war imagery, but the single eye implies Jupiter. Then of course there is the “finned like a fish” and the one eye implying a Cyclops and Cyclopes being associated with Neptune/Poseidon-but we’ve set aside Neptune for Varun. HOWEVER Cyclopes are also connected to Uranus as Uranus and Gaia had some cyclops children in Hesiod’s Theogony. Have I taken this too far yet?

So as you can see, I’ve connected the dots??????

Main Villains

For the actual villains of the story they are apart of a shadow race called 'Orinthiums'. Ornithiums are creatures born of the fear of mankind. Anything that can feel fear can give way to the birth of the creatures, though it happens most often with humans fears, as they are the most potent. Each country has powerful Ornithiums it struggles to kill, due to Japan being the Capital of Magical Girls in this world they have some of the strongest Ornithiums. There are 5 currently ranked the strongest, each having their own fear type though it's suspected that once an Ornithium reaches a certain number of Pengmatite Gems that they can exert control over weaker Ornithiums of similar fear classes to their own.

Our main Villains

Posy is rank 5, Asphodel is rank 4, Cassiopeia is rank 3, Eshita is rank 2. Though very little is known about rank 1, other than it takes the form of a man unlike the other four.

Chapter 12 of Harrow the Ninth

Act 2 has the same weird wrong-sized image for it as Act 1 did

This is "six months before the Emperor's murder", so it's been three months since the first act. Incidentally, the prologue is "the night before the Emperor's murder", which means that Number Seven actually took only nine months to get to them, and not ten

So they are going around killing planets, and then killing their souls so that the Resurrection Beasts can't eat them to get stronger. But the planet's soul right after it's been killed isn't very dangerous and can be dispatched by Harrow in eight and a half minutes. So why didn't John just kill the souls of the nine planets right after they died? I guess maybe he didn't know that they would become more powerful back then? But if they were chasing him for all of eternity, it seems like he would have had plenty of time to get rid of them before they became powerful. Or was there something different about the nine planets?

Also a little curious, if they've been going around killing planets for 10,000 years, did it never occur to any of the Lyctors to try to absorb the planet's soul?

But she can hold the sword now. I guess because of what she did to encase it in bone? Is this why they need swords - to kill planets? Are the swords necessary for this? If she has a perfectly functional sword that she's figured out how to hold and can use to kill planets, why does she also need to have a rapier?

This sort of implies that using the sword is not actually necessary for this, in fact

I guess this is supposed to mean that the River is less concrete than flesh and bone magic, but more concrete than soul magic? But yeah, Harrow is right, this analogy is terrible, just like the man-eating lava fish analogy from earlier

But I gather from this that the hungry ghosts do not attack you if you go into the River with just your spirit, only if you go with your body. Which sort of raises the question of why Cassiopeia went into the River with her body that one time, instead of just her spirit? It sounds like from the prologue and also this chapter, that you can fight Resurrection Beasts just fine with only your spirit

Are all the planet souls insect-shaped in the River? There was a lot of insect language in the prologue

In Gideon the Ninth, Harrow is always carrying around bone chips to use for necromancy, and seems to have an infinite supply of them somehow. In this book, she exclusively extracts pieces of her own body to use for necromancy. Is it just that she no longer has access to whatever infinite supply of bone chips she used to have, or was she doing it this way all along and Gideon just didn't notice? Also, I note that doing this when you're just a spirit is apparently fine, unlike when they were in the shuttle

The killing of the planet's soul seems like way too physical and gory and like, dependent on specific types of IRL anatomy to be like, a fight against something's soul. Why does a planet's soul have flesh in the River? Why does it have a brain? Why does it work the same way an animal does? These things aren't universal even among just organisms on earth. It's seems odd. If it's meant to be just in Harrow's head, the way that the corpses in the shuttle were, why does it matter if she stabs it in the brain, versus any other part of its body?

So this is why everyone is convinced that Harrow will die in the prologue, when they are fighting the Resurrection Beast. Harrow has a sort of confusing partial Lyctorhood - she has access to the Lyctoral well, which she in theory shouldn't if she had removed Gideon's soul, but indeed doesn't seem to have Gideon's soul in every other respect. Weird AU idea

Currently I have been watching a lot of Rick & Morty, and with my obsession with Pokemon SV and the AUs that I have seen here…. I came up with this.

Cass10p31a.01

A Penny from an universe where Team Star became so powerful to the point of becoming a citadel all over Paldea. There are no traces of Arven, Florian, Juliana, Nemona, the Elite 4 (She get rid of them), not even the other Team Star bosses. As you see in the image, the “Andromeda City” works with terastal energy, which is extracted from the Great Crater of Paldea and Terapagos. Unfortunately, the terastal energy of both will run out at some point, so Penny had no choice than travel to other universes to get new terastal energy, that being Terapagos, the usual in Galar ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Personality and Behavior

This Penny is more “sociable”, at least can talk to people without any problem. She has a calm and direct attitude when talking to others, she usually only talks to others to ask for favors, although when you bother her she becomes colder and more serious, and if she doesn't get what she wants from you, she will just leave (She won't give up so easily, she doesn’t stop until she get what she wants). She is more expressive when online or under her alias of Cassiopeia, or in this case, Cass10p31a.01.

If you are not a threat, she will not do anything to you, it is not convenient for her, she would only look for you if you are useful for her objectives, but if you are a threat, she will avoid you or try to get rid of you from the shadows. That if she is not in her universe, otherwise, if you are a threat she will just use the Terablaster.

Gadgets

Cass10p31a.01 has an artifact that looks like a watch, which is what helps her travel to other universes, it also can teleport (but only within a 2 meter range), create a force field and change her appearance to someone else (Usually other Pennys). The watch works the same as a Tera Orb, it needs to be recharged after use, each of its functions has a different number of uses before needing to recharge (1 universe travel and change appearance, 3 teleport and 5 minutes of force field).

She has a chip on her neck that helps her imitate other people's voices. She also has another chip in her glasses that connects to her watch to be able to locate the place where she wants to teleport, it also helps locate people with trackers (Yes, she also has trackers) and obtain data of technology, objects, pokemon and people. Needless to say, she retains her programming and hacking abilities, even better than the original Penny, she has more years of experience.

This is not a gadget, but it is something that she uses a lot in the city, the Terablaster. The Terablaster is a massive weapon that Cass10p31a.01 uses on criminals and people she considers threats. This weapon fires a powerful beam similar to the move that inspires the name of the weapon, this beam turns everything it touches into Tera Shards, needless to say, you don't survive that.....

Fun Facts

-She still has her Eevee backpack, it's a little old and torn, seeing it makes her nostalgic.

-She has the 8 eeveelutions but, except Sylveon, she never uses them to battle, they are just her pets.

-The affection she has for her Sylveon is comparable to that of a trainer with his starter, that's why it’s the only Veevee she uses in battles.

-She took Geeta's place, so in addition to being the ruler of Paldea, she is the president of the new Pokemon League, the Andromeda League.

-Eri is the only Team Star boss who shows a trace in this universe, being a member of the Andromeda League. She is the only person who has a friendship with Cass10p31a.01.

-She is online under the pseudonym VeeVeeFan.01 to go unnoticed.

-She is envious of some Pennys because they have a normal and happy life with friends, while she is alone in the Andromeda City. And those that don't? She gives them a little help from the shadows ;)

-She would like to start from scratch, completely move away from Andromeda City and Team Star, start a new life in another region or universe, but she knows it's too late for that… or not?

(And we finished, I'm surprised how long this took me to do, I guess it was because of school and personal stuff :/ Anyway, if this is successful, maybe I'll make a story or those Q&A accounts I see on Tumblr with her, idk it also depends if I'm inspired to do that (Spoiler: I am :3)).

On this blog here, the next big thing to happen will be the final part of the Balance series, which is all drawn up and waiting in the wings to be written. There may or may not be a small series relating to another character than Lizzie and Orion, who features heavily in this story, preceding it but somehow I keep forgetting to actually work on it? 😅

On my original blog, I'm quite undecided about what to work on once When Stars Ignite will go into its well-deserved rest before the next round of work on it begins. It's probably either going to be Icarus (working title), a spin-off dealing with WSI's antagonist, or a very personal novel called Lemons.

🧠 Pick a character, and I'll tell you my favorite headcanon for them.

Fandom: Less a headcanon but a behind-the-scenes - Lizzie can do/has lots of traits in the very beginning of Art of Balance that seem superfluous to mention/don't really fit her as a character anymore. That's because when I started out, I intended to make her as close to game-MC as possible while still cutting out the Cursed-Vaults storyline. I'd do it differently, these days.

Original: For a while, Ev and Leon were good friends. Best friends, actually, or so Ev thought. Their friendship didn't exactly bring the best out in Leon, so he gradually removed himself from that friendship, letting it settle on a more professional level. He wouldn't admit it to himself, but Ev never quite got over that, laying their groundwork for the one-sided rivalry that would later develop between them.

What uncommon/common fear do they have?

Cassie’s primary fear is that someone will pick her out as a clone (which I think is pretty uncommon though understandable). She’d do anything to avoid getting caught

Do they have any pet peeves?

Belladonna

In all seriousness though, her biggest pet peeve is people with sticks up their asses who take stupid things too seriously but can’t bother to see the big-picture issues. So, Belladonna, although she’s getting better

What are 3 items you can find in their bedroom?

Cassie doesn’t have much in her bedroom since she doesn’t own much. She has spare clothes, a spare eye patch, and the odds and ends she’s tinkering with for her new hand in there

What do they notice first in a person?

How dangerous they might be. Like whether they’re being threatening (or just being a noble)

On a scale of 1 to 10, how high is their pain tolerance?

10/10. Cassie chopped her own arm off in a door on purpose and kept going on her escape attempt. She has nerves of steel

Fight. You put too much pressure on Cassie, you will get punched

No and no. Cassie considers herself as having no bio family - Cassiopeia clones are kept isolated enough that they can’t really form familial bonds, so Cassie doesn’t consider them her sisters, or the Stellaris clones her brothers. She has no real interest in forming familial bonds either, although she has a close friendship with Nellie

What animal represents them best?

Cassie gives me feral cat vibes. She will scratch you

What is a smell that they dislike?

Blood. She’s not squeamish per se, but it reminds her of Sixth Station

Have they broken any bones?

I actually haven’t thought about it. I’m sure she’s broken ribs once or twice, probably not much else (assuming you don’t count her chopping her arm off)

How would a stranger likely describe them?

“Yeah, I met this girl today. I think she’s the bodyguard for one of the nobles? Super buff, could absolutely break me in half. Gorgeous hair although she doesn’t look like she takes care of it, I wanted to sit her down and brush it for her. I think she must’ve been in one of those power depot disasters a few years back, because she’s missing an eye and an arm - and I didn’t think ‘metal arm’ would be my type, but I think she might’ve changed my mind. I got her number, though, so here’s hoping.”

She gives off night owl hates-getting-up vibes but she’s actually an early bird. She likes getting up to get a workout in before she starts her day

Cassie hates nutrient cubes, although whether “cardboard” is a flavor could definitely be debated. One of her all-time favourite flavours is blueberry

She doesn’t have a ton of time because she works a job with long hours, but she likes working out. She also enjoys watching trashy sitcoms

Boom, surprise birthday party! How do they react to surprises?

I think she’d honestly be flattered. She’d get startled, but I doubt she’d actually go as far as punching any of her friends, and she’d like the party, although I think she’d be confused as to how they know her birthday, because she just kind of picked one at random for her ID and honestly doesn’t remember what it is

Do they like to wear jewelry?

Nope. It’s expensive and not her style

Cassie is illiterate :)

Annoyance and glee. She’s so tired of nobles and their bullshit but she can’t help but be delighted at the trappings of being rich
